Usage of verb forms (Cont.) Verb conjugation o + Vconj + Kudasai お。。。。ください "Would you please do~" O Vconj kudasai expresses a polite imperative to a superior, or customer. Examples: Sanji made ni o-kaeri kudasai. 三時までにお帰りください。 Would you please return by three o' clock. Dōzo o-kake kudasai. どうぞおかけください。 Would you please sit down. Note: Some verbs use special polite alternative words, e.g. miru 見る (look) goran kudasai. ご覧ください。(would you please look.); iku/kuru 行く ・ 来る (go/come) oide kudasai. おいでください。(Would you please go/come.) For suru verbs, the following polite imperative form is used: e.g. setsumei suru 説明する (explain) Go-setsumei kudasai. ご説明ください。 (Would you please explain.) Normally the polite prefix o is attached to Japanese verbs and go to suru-verbs of Chinese origin.
