Japanese Language 「Sentence Structure」 The nai form of a verb, followed by the phrase hō ga ii, is used to give advice about what one ought not to do. It corresponds with the English "had better not do" or "ought not to do." Examples: 危険だからあの山には登らないほうがいい。 Kiken da kara ano yama ni wa noboranai hō ga ii.
