The particle ne at the end of a sentence is used to indicate the speaker's intent for confirmation.

These oranges are sweet, aren't they?
Ano resutoran no hanbāgā wa oishikunakatta desu ne.
The hamburger at that restaurant wasn't good, was it?
Akira wa itsumo genki da ne.
Akira is always in good spirits, isn't he?
