There was an earthquake. 「B」黒い熊がいた/いました。 Kuroi kuma ga ita/imashita. There was a black bear. Examples: ゆうべ交通事故がありました。 Yūbe kōtsū jiko ga arimashita. There was a traffic accident last night. 買い物客がいました。 Kaimonokyaku ga imashita. There were shoppers. 象がいた。きりんもいた。 Zō ga ita. Kirin mo ita. There were elephants. There were also giraffes.
