Japanese Language [Verbs] [Te Form] [Part 17] [Vte + Kureru~て くれる] "do something, (for me or someone)" Vte kureru indicates that someone is doing a favorable action for the speaker (the first person) or someone who is close to the speaker. Vte kudasaru indicates the status of the doer of the favorable action is of higher social status than the receiver (ex., 3). The verbs kureru くれる and kudasaru くださる (give) are used as auxiliaries. Examples: 時々 姉 が (私 に) クッキー を 焼いて くれる。 Tokidoki ane ga (watashi ni) kukkī o yaite kureru. Once in a while my older sister bakes cookies for me. だれ が (あなた に) その ニュース を 知らせて くれました か。 Dare ga (anata ni) sono nyūsu o shira sete kuremashita ka. Who informed you of the news? 腹先生 が (私達 に)辞書 の使い方 を説明 して くだいました。 Hara sensei ga (watashitachi ni) jisho no tsukaikata o setsumei shite kudasaimashita.
