Japanese Language 「 Japanese Verbs」 「Vte+iku〜ていく」 "go on~ing," "become," "grow" Vte iku expresses an action which goes away from the location of the speaker or moves into the future. The verb iku いく (go) is used as an auxiliary. Examples: 鳥が飛んでいく。 Tori ga tonde iku. Birds are flying away. 泥棒があちらへ逃げていきました。 Dorobō ga achira e nigete ikimashita.
