Japanese Language 「Verbs」 「Vdic + shi し」 "Not only~ but also~," "and~" Vdic shi is used to express two or more actions or events in one sentence. Examples: 小田さんはへも描くし、写真もとります。 Oda-san wa e mo kaku shi, shashin mo torimasu. Miss Oda not only does paintings, but also takes photographs. あの人はよく食べるし、よく飲むし、よくしゃべる。 Ano hito wa yoku taberu shi, yoku nomu shi, yoku shaberu. He eats a lot, drinks a lot, and chatters a lot. 原料は不足するし、生産は減少します。 Genryō wa fusoku suru shi, seisan wa genshō shimasu. Raw material becomes insufficient, and production decreases.
