Nexon games has released information about an new game they are releasing a closed beta for in the near future.
It is a first person shooter that is themed in the world of the Ghost in the Shell anime and manga. The video shows the entirety of Section 9 and it seems to have the technology and hopefully side characters used in the anime and manga.
I am currently unsure on the specifics on whether or not you can control them or if they are A.I. teammates. I hope that they are in a similar vein to what EA decided to do with Star Wars: Battlefront where you can pick up heroes based on performance.
The aesthetics of the game, especially this early, looks like it follows the art and world of the anime Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
There is also voice acting, the video showcases the English voice actress of Maj. Motoko Kusanagi, which is a good thing in my opinion.
There is no information on whether or not the other actors will reprise their roles in the game, I am hoping that they will bring out all the actors to flesh it out, and pie in the sky, please allow Japanese voice track.
I do not have too much more information on this currently because it is still unknown when the beta releases. I only hope this does not go the way of Pay to Win.
My concern is mainly due to the ridiculous leveling speed and having powerful weapons behind a pay wall, but we shall see how it goes during the beta.
I am wary about how this game in implemented using a free to play model, but hopefully the company who owns Ghost in the Shell will force quality control in order to give us the best experience possible.
I will give it the benefit of the doubt until I can get my hands on it, if I get into the beta, or once the game fully releases.
If you are interested in finding more out, here is the homepage of the game where you can watch the video, and sign up for the beta.
